STATEMENT: Jamie Carragher

On behalf of Jamie Carragher, we would like to address recent incidents in the press and across social media. A video has been shared of Jamie appearing to spit into another car whilst driving away from Old Trafford.

Jamie would like to make a formal apology to the victims, describing his actions as "totally out of order" and understands there is "no excuse" for such behaviour.

Following Sky's decision to suspend Jamie until the end of the season, he will be taking time to reflect on his actions and will not be making any further public comments on this matter.
